Intelligent Database and Barcode Scanning System with Trimble Tablet Rugged PC Tracks Tools, Equipment and Portable Assets

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) today introduced the TrimbleŽ AllTrak(TM) Asset Management System running on the advanced Trimble Tablet(TM) Rugged PC. Trimble AllTrak on the Trimble Tablet supplies building construction contractors with quantitative information about assets, which they can use to analyze and improve the utilization of equipment, tools, and consumables. With accurate asset information at their fingertips, contractors can make informed decisions about asset acquisition and maintenance. In addition, the system increases return on investment by improving asset utilization and monitoring equipment to avoid losses.

The announcement was made today at World of Concrete 2010, the concrete industry's annual international event dedicated to the commercial concrete and masonry construction industries.

The Trimble AllTrak system intelligently accesses a contractor's database of assets. Using the Trimble Tablet with a barcode scanner, contractors can perform a variety of functions such as asset check-in, check-out, transfers, and additions. The system is ideal for general contractors, as well as concrete, steel, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and site prep subcontractors.

High-Performance Trimble Tablet Ideal Rugged Component of Trimble AllTrak System

The Trimble Tablet Rugged PC allows tool crib managers to wirelessly access asset information remotely. Jobsite conditions do not impact the Trimble Tablet's performance, and users can view data, images, and reports on the Tablet's large, easy-to-read and highly graphical screen. The Trimble Tablet is also equipped with a built-in camera for photographing assets to document condition and communicate hard-to-explain information graphically.

The Trimble Tablet runs Microsoft Windows Vista Business, along with the office software of choice. This capability enables building construction contractors to perform a variety of office functions, including asset management via Trimble AllTrak, from the field.

The Trimble AllTrak System for Trimble Tablet is available now from select dealers in Trimble's North America Building Construction Distribution Network.
