ST. LOUIS, July 10- Arch Coal, Inc. (NYSE:ACI) will discuss its second quarter 2009 financial results in a conference call that will be broadcast live over the Internet on Friday, July 24 at 11:00 a.m. E.D.T. Participating on the call will be Arch's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Steven F. Leer, President and Chief Operating Officer John W. Eaves, and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer John T. Drexler.

The webcast will be accessible via the "investor" section of the Arch Coal Web site at http://investor.archcoal.com/. Following the live event, a replay and podcast download will be available on the site for approximately one month.
