intro
Welcome to the August 2010 edition of our eNewsletter.
It is hard to believe that August is already here. My family has settled into our new home outside of Cincinnati, Ohio and are enjoying our new surroundings.
On August 16th and 17th in Eugene, Oregon, the Oregon Department of Transportation is hosting an educational event called "Design to Dozer - Computer Controlled Heavy Equipment Demonstration." Speakers include Ron Singh, Chief of Surveys/Geometronics Manager, ODOT, and Murray Lodge, VP Construction, Topcon Positioning, as well as representatives from Autodesk, Bentley, other ODOT representatives, Carlson Software, Trimble and yours truly. This event is designed to educate, offering brief seminars and hands-on demonstartions of machine control technology. I do hope to see you there! For more info please click HERE or email odot.hr.training@odot.state.or.us
In this issue, we have 8 new articles. 7 articles come from our exclusive MachineControlOnline authors. Topics range from offshore machine control to a software review of Trimble Business Center to more data prep insight to LiDar to the new SITECH distribution. I would also like to welcome back guest author Don Talend. His article, "Excavator Systems, A Flexible Upgrade" is featured in Today's Spotlight below. Please scroll down to see all the new articles. I hope you find value for your business!
We continue to hear from our readers about new projects and bidding opportunities. If you are considering positioning and 3D machine control technology, welcome. MachineControlOnline.com is committed to serving as your knowledge base.
