Noland
Welcome to the November 2011 edition of our eNewsletter.
As we approach mid Q4, 2011 will be remembered as a year of economic challenge and unrest. There are different approaches for dealing with these challenges. Exploring leaner operational methods that increase productivity and profitability are paramount. Many are finding that positioning and 3D machine control offers precisely that. Adoption continues to trend upward.
These facts are supported by the sustained growth for the precision GNSS market that, according to the technology market intelligence firm ABI Research, will experience a near doubling of shipments and revenue by 2016. GPS/GNSS technology is quickly becoming an enabler of all mobile hardware and services. While multi-GNSS constellations hold the promise of improved availability and accuracy, at the same time GNSS is being complemented by a wide range of alternative technologies—such as Wi-Fi, inertial sensors and network-based positioning—to improve overall reliability in challenging environments. Connected converged GNSS form factors such as handsets, MIDs, and netbooks will increasingly compete with dedicated stand-alone hardware solutions.
It is all very exciting and I hope we can serve as your knowledge base as you explore the benefits of positioning and 3D machine control. We are currently working on our third edition of Machine Control Magazine due out by the end of November. I personally will continue this discussion in my upcoming article, "The Democratization of Positioning." I hope you will give it a read.
In this issue we have 5 articles from our esteemed MCO authors along with a contributions from our friend Don Talend. As always, I hope you enjoy this newsletter! Please stay tuned, visiting us often as we update the website daily. Please don't hesitate to contact me if there is any subject about which you would like to see more information.
More to come…
Best regards,

3D-MC2 will drastically change the role your dozer plays on a typical site, in some cases eliminating the need for a grader. It will also allow you to make more efficient use of your dozer.

Along with speed increases, 3D-MC2 means fewer passes resulting in much more work done in less time.
