Welcome to the March 2010 edition of our eNewsletter.
In this issue, we have 8 new articles from our regular authors as well as from guest authors. Paul Hahn, Associate Editor, discusses specialized total stations used when accuracy cannot be compromised. Marco Cecala reviews InSite’s SiteWork software for takeoff and data prep. Nigel Adams of Ongrade documents his training and installation at a landfill near Dallas, Texas and Ron Ciccarone gives us a history lesson about the origin of todays DTM contours. In my article, I discuss the most affordable entry point for 3D machine control technology.
I hope you enjoy this newsletter! Please stay tuned, visiting us often as we update the website daily. As always, please drop me a line if there is any subject about which you would like to see more information. I personally read every email!

Ron Ciccarone3D Modeling 101: A Bit of History by Ron Ciccarone, LS: – Have you ever wonder when we started connecting points of equal elevation with lines to form what we call contours? I am digressing a bit from the digital 3D Model issue, but I think it is important to see what our predecessors used to depict land.
