RECOVERY--The Corps of Engineers has a need for a contract for installation of a new sluice gates remote control system, including programmable logic controllers, fiber optic communications network, closed-circuit television equipment and appurtenant electrical work. The work is located at Shenango Dam near Sharpsville in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. A site visit schedule will be included in the solicitation.
The period of performance will be 180 calendar days. Magnitude of the project is between $500,000 to $1,000,000. This procurement will be 100% set-aside for SBA Certified HUBZone firms (certification as HUBZone concern is made through the US Small Business Administration). The Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued approximately July 15, 2009 on-line only through the Federal Business Opportunities website; therefore, requests for hardcopies of the specifications and drawings will not be honored.
