Three years ago, at World of Concrete 2009, we launched our website, MachineControlOnline.com. Market conditions were anything but rosy, with the construction economy in a full-on tailspin. Still, we remained optimistic knowing that machine control technology would become more relevant than ever.

By 2010, we were publishing our eNewsletter, Machine Control Today twice a month. A talented pool of contributors began making waves, and news continued to spread of the growth and opportunities that were taking place across the industry. At Conexpo 2011, we unveiled Machine Control Magazine, in digital form. Attention was catching on as well as a steady growth in readership.

Pressing ahead for 2012, we're proud to announce a printed edition, a harbinger of industry light and fresh air at the end of a long, dark climb. Most all machines will eventually be outfitted with a factory or retrofit system of some sort. Prior to the bottom falling out of the market, estimates for 3D machine control adoption were somewhere between 9-12%. Companies with an eye to the future will see that much opportunity remains for manufacturers and users to lead by technological advantage.

Our mission at Machine Control Magazine is to strengthen the community of users through education on new products and new applications. It's well known that the construction marketplace still prefers printed publications; more BtoB magazines have survived in the engineering and construction sector than any other in North America. This is a key indicator of how readers prefer to receive their content.

I would like to thank our diverse and talented team of writers who have produced over 250 articles and 100+ videos over the last three years. In addition, I would like to thank the advertisers for making all this possible. Most of all, I would like to thank our readers. We look forward to sharing more good things!
